Undergoing metamorphosis
PhD Dissertation
Developed enhanced techniques for crystallising membrane proteins, concentrating on the Outer membrane protein G (OmpG). By identifying optimal conditions for crystal formation, this research successfully revealed a new, high-resolution structure of OmpG, contributing valuable knowledge for advancing membrane protein crystallisation methods.
Master Thesis
Explored miRNA profiles in major depressive disorder by comparing serum samples from affected and healthy individuals via qPCR (quantitative polymerase chain reaction), a technique that quantifies gene expression levels. This study identified distinct miRNA downregulation patterns with potential as biomarkers for diagnostic purposes.
Bachelor Thesis
Investigated contamination control in Chlamydomonas reinhardtii cultures within bioregenerative life support systems, focusing on identifying bacterial contaminants and proposing a probiotic-based approach to mitigate contamination for potential use in Mars habitats.
